Part time blogger is a busy person. Working from 9–5 doesn’t allow much time for anything else. You have other obligations to do after work. Blogging might be one of them. All you have to do is to smartly schedule your spare time. After six months of blogging I figure how necessary is to list the tasks you need to do on a daily basis and keep on to that schedule. I’m usually spending 3 hours a day working on my blog and related projects. Sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on the situation and blogging timeline schedule.

Why is blogging strategy so important? You must have one to stay organized and stick to it. Follow the daily routine, work hard and results will come in time. Discipline is the key.

Whatever you do, stick to your blogging strategy and do all the task in your daily routine.

Here is the list of my daily blogging tasks in my content strategy cycle:

I’m doing these tasks day after day, every day to run this blog.

Running a blog or blogging takes time but must be determined run a daily routine. In my case I need 3 hours a day for blogging. More time would be better but for now this is all I can spare of my free time.

Content writing — writing a blog post

This is most important task of running a blog. You must develop high quality content that is original and interesting in a way that keep readers attention and make your audience read the whole article.

Blog posts are number one on my schedule list and somewhat most time consuming part of blogging. To start writing a new post, You should have already done your research on the topic you want to write about. Personally, I leave research for the end as sometimes interesting subjects may appear ad hock while running social promotion.

Writing an article took time. 1000 words can be written in an hour, but for greater quality need much more time. Now days, quality article should contain 2000, 2500 or more words. This needs couple of hours just to be typed or in other words I’ll need one day just for writing a good quality blog post. This is the reason why person running a blog can’t post regularly more often.

Visual content

Having just plain text in your blog post is not enough. It looks dull and boring. Visitors will loose concentration and leave. I would fall asleep if reading this long article and don’t take a break, see an image or so.

Social media promotion and automation

Next step in my blogging strategy is to promote the blog post. As I have social media buttons incorporated on my blog this is piece of cake. All I have to do is to click on an icon from the floating social bar on the left side on my blog and share my new blog post.

Social connections and networking

While running social media promotion manually I usually check my social accounts for members updates, news, and shares. If find interesting reshare and retweet. This builds connection with other members. And these connection may help both sides in promoting each other. On long terms, may lead to building even stronger connections thru guest blogging, interviews and joint ventures which benefit both parties.

Research on new topics

Researching and getting ideas for next blog post is another important part of my 3 hours a day blogging strategy cycle. Search for ideas on topics for my next blog post I’m not doing thru Google Trends as most bloggers suggest, but thru social media, Twitter especially. Why? Search on Google Trends for a specific keyword phrase may not be so reliable as the real time trending hashtag on Twitter.

This is a short version of my 3 hours a day blogging strategy cycle I use in my blogging. Full article and exact step by step guide on how I create my blog posts is posted on projectonlineincome.com
